theexpenseofloweraccuracy.WithThread-time
profiling,youcanmeasurethecontributionof
individualthreadsinmultithreadedapplications,
reducinginterferencebetweenthreads.Other
enhancementsincludeindividualtabsavingandmore
supportforfilteringandfoldingfunctioncallsin
severalviews.

Memoryprofilingenhancements

dotTrace3.0givesyouanothermeansforspotting
memoryleaks-finalizedobjects.Youcannowsee
allobjectsthatweredeletedbythefinalizerand
notproperlydisposedofinthecodeofyour
application.Amongotherenhancementsisthe
possibilitytomergestrongly-connectedobjectsin
groupsaswellasnavigationtoclasses'sourcein
sourcepreview.Also,informationaboutheldand
reachableobjectsisnowserializedtodisk,
eliminatingthenecessitytorecomputeitoneach
memorysnapshotopening.

MicrosoftVisualStudioandalsorunusingVisual
StudioDevelopmentweb-server(asanalternativeto
IIS).Individualtabscannowbesavedasseparate
snapshots.Also,dotTracehelpsyouprofileyour
olderapplicationsinthoseprofilingmodeswhich
arenotsupportedforthe.NET1.1framework,by
automaticallycreatinganappropriate.configfile.
